I Wanna Be Adored

Today was such a clear, sunny, lovely day, so I thought it would be perfect to go to the park! & I've also been really looking foward to making a post with me in this dress! I got it about a month ago, and I am just in love with it. It just makes me feel so girly and happy, haha! Unfortunately, though, my little trip to the park was cut a bit short. While I was out in the grass taking photos of myself, this really creepy looking guy was riding his bike, and he just stopped and started staring at me! This isn't the first time something odd like this has occured, so I was just trying to ignore it. I continued on taking my photos, and about five minutes later I noticed he was gone. But then, I turned around and noticed him on a different street, staring at me more! I was kind-of really creeped out by this point, and I began to slowly start packing up my things, but I really wasn't done taking photos, so I kind of stayed around a bit longer, trying to take as many photos as possible, hoping to get a lot of good ones to choose from, of course. Then, he turned around on his bike, and started heading up into the park trail, and he began to approach me. By this point, I am packing up so fast it was crazy. I hear all of these horror stories everyday on the news about people being killed and abducted and all, and although he was only on a bike, I didn't care, I was going to take off to my car! Haha! But it was too late, he came up to me, and he was asking me these questions in this really creepy voice and tone. Questions like, "Whatcha doin'? .. Taking pictures, huh? .. What kinda camera is that?" And like the awkward and terrified person that I am and was at the moment, I just kind of made eye contact for a split second and I quickly walked to my car. He kept staring at me, and then he finally left. And, of course, as he was leaving he stared more. Although I could've just gotten back out of my car when he left, I was terrified and freaked out, and I even had the shakes pretty badly. So I thought it would be best if I just went back home. But this actually probably isn't a scary story to anyone else, and actually when I told my dad about it he laughed. But oh well, in my opinion, you can never be to sure of people like that. But anyways - I am not done with photographing myself in this dress, and I will be taking more, probably more 'artsy' photos instead of mostly focusing on the outfit only. This dress is darling to me and I feel pretty when I wear it, so I am loving taking photos in it!

Thanks for reading, hope you have a lovely day! xx

A Few Vintage Thrifted Finds!

Yesterday, my mom and I finally got out of the house to do a little thrifting, and I had some good luck! I only got three things, but a lot of times I usually just leave thrift shops empty-handed! The best part about it though, is that they are all vintage, which makes me very happy, so I thought I would share what I found with you all!

The first thing I got was this lovely little vase. I really love the details on it, and the floral printing in the middle. I could tell it was vintage from the labeling on the bottom of the vase, but I'm not exactly sure how old it is. Now all I need to do is find some pretty flowers to put in it!

The second thing I found was this mug here. You're probably thinking, "okay, its a random mug. What's so special about it?" Well, I go to Walt Disney World very frequently (very frequently meaning once every other week) and Epcot is my favorite park at WDW. In my opinion it is very unique, and I am a bit of a Disney geek, so I enjoy the history of the parks, and Epcot especially, which is mostly why I get so excited over these little vintage pieces that came from the park from around the time when it first opened up. In this case, this mug is actually from 1982, the year the park did open! I also have another EPCOT Center mug which is from '82 also, and I found it at the same thrift shop, actually! But yes, I am very happy that I found this mug and I love it so much!

This last item here is a vintage jewelry box, which I automatically fell in love with. I believe it is from the 50's, maybe even from earlier decades. But I just love everything about it. The color, the simplicity of it, the pop-out compartments, and even the smell. It smells like an old attic on the inside, which, call me weird, but I think is a lovely scent. I just love imagining all of the lovely, vintage pieces of jewelry that were placed in it at one time, long ago. I wonder if maybe it had been passed down any, and then donated? Or was it very special to someone at one time? Silly things to be wondering about a little jewelry box, but I'm sure there is some kind of story behind it. I mean, why not? It is in very good, almost perfect condition, like someone has taken very good care of it. But that's what I love about vintage pieces like this, just wondering what it's worth might of been to someone at one time, even wondering what it's first owner looked like in, maybe the 50's. Things like this just keep me thinking and thinking for hours - and all over an old jewelry box. Haha! But it's all very interesting to me.

Well, anyways, hope you enjoyed this post! Have a lovely day! xx

Vedette Shapewear Giveaway Winners!

So a few weeks ago I had a Vedette Shapewear contest, and the contest was actually over on June 7th, but to be honest, I had forgotten all about it! So I am very sorry to keep you all waiting so long! This is also my first time having a contest, so I guess I am just not used to it, which is why I totally forgot about it. But thankfully when I was creating a couple of new blog posts for you all, I happened to see that post title for the giveaway, and it reminded me to announce the winners! Haha!

I have seen where just about every blogger goes to for their random number generators to fairly pick winners for their contests, which is the easiest way of picking a winner, especially for those contests with about 100+ entries. I didn't get many entries at all for this contest, but thats okay! Anyways, for my contest there were three winners, so actually almost everyone that entered wins. But here are my results from the random number generator:

So, my three winners for this contest are Cindy A., Szabina L., and Barbara J! Congratulations, ladies! I will be emailing you all very shortly to get some details from you so we can mail you your Vedette Shapewear piece!

Sunday Morning

Hello, everyone! I am so, so, so sorry for being gone for so long! It has literally been raining all day everyday in my city, and I haven't had to chance to take any photos of my outfits! Today the tropical storm that was hanging around finally went away, and it was a lovely, sunny blue-sky day! I didn't have a very nice time in the park though, the ground was flooded in a lot of places, and the dirt/grass was all squishy and it was pretty bad! But I wanted to go out and take photos today in my new lovely skirt I got in the mail from Sugarlips the other day! I love it so much, I can wear it many different ways and thats great for me! It is a very cool, flow-y skirt, which is perfect for the summer, and the colors are so perfect! I already know i will be wearing it a lot this season!

Also, in the past week the lovely bloggers from Little Miss Twiggy and Fashionista In Society both featured me on their blogs! How kind!

Thanks for reading, and have a lovely day! xx

My Summer Wardrobe!

I am so happy it is finally summer. For someone who lives in Florida like myself though, that means wearing minimal clothes! I have a hard time getting out of my house in my normal dresses and long-sleeve blouses, heck, even medium-sleeved tops are way too much! During the summer, I try to focus a lot on comfort and cool clothes, rather than what looks best. Above I have what my summer wardrobe looks like for this season! I don't exactly own a lovely high-waisted bathing suit like the one from YSL above, but I'm trying to find one! And floral print shorts are also going to make their way into my closet soon..haha! Oh! and I also ordered a lovely pair of sandals the other day! This makes me so happy, because I don't own any sandals! I am so picky when it comes to them. Every pair I see in stores are just not me, and I also don't want to pay over 50$ for a pair. Well, the pair I found I saw in stores but I had to find them and order them online because in the store they didn't have my size. But they were 40$ and after tax and shipping came out to being 50$. But they are so so lovely and I will definitely be wearing them every day this summer!

I had to post a photo of them.. they are just so lovely to me haha! But yeah I think that's all for now.. we finally have blue skies over here, for now, anyways! So I am going to go to the park and photograph my outfit today!

Hope you all have a lovely Monday! xx

Brittany & Matthew | Jacksonville, FL Couples Photographer

Hi, everyone! This past week has been good, but bad. Good, because I am finally out for the summer and I am now officially a Junior! But bad, because everyday these past few days, no, WEEKS, have been so, so rainy! It has been endlessly pouring rain outside my window. I know this may be good because it gives me lots of time to nap, read lots of lovely books and drink lots of tea, but it just wont stop! I'm tired of napping every afternoon when I could be making blog posts! So until I can get outside to take photos, (which could be either tomorrow or a while from now, it's supposed to rain all this week also), I will be making lots of posts of other things!

So as my first post, I would like to share some photos of my first actual photo shoot with you all! A few weeks ago, my best friend Brittany asked me if I would take photos of her and her boyfriend, as since I am always looking for opportunities to get some photography experience, (and I have been dying to photograph someone other than myself), I was more than happy to take photos of them! I thought about it, and I had in mind a nice open field for the shoot. I wanted these photos to have a very light, warm, dreamy look to them, since it is summer, now. So after searching, and searching, for the perfect place to take these photos, I finally found a place that looked like exactly what I had in mind, and last Monday we went out and did the shoot! It went extremely well, and so many of the shots look so lovely! I post-processed them within two days of the shoot because I was just so excited! So, hope you don't mind me sharing a few of my favorites with you all! I would also love for y'all to give me some feedback on them, and tell me your thoughts!

Hope you all have a lovely week! xx
