Monochromatic Elegance

Wearing: Paper Dolls via Little Mistress dress, Nina purse, heels, bracelet, + earrings.

When I got this dress I was expecting it to be a shorter length from the photo, but it ended up being a floor-length maxi on me. I guess I didn't think about the fact that a model was wearing it in the photo and I'm a super short person, but it was all still okay as it is such a stunning, figure flattering dress. I personally think that this dress can easily be worn casually, dressed up, or even to formal events like prom! I decided to dress it up in an elegant way, with my favorite sparkly accessories from Nina. I even put special effort into my makeup and hair for this gorgeous dress, which is quite a rarity for me, haha! I felt so fabulous in this whole look, it really makes me wish I went to fancy events and places more often... I really could get used to looking like this!

Boho Prints + Summery Knits

Wearing: Aeropostale (c/o) dress, Thrifted vintage Guess bag, cardigan + shoes, My Name Necklace "Carly" necklace, Elise M Collection necklace.

The other morning before I headed off to work I decided to take a few photos of my outfit, and I'm glad I did because the lighting was just gorgeous outside. A little plus side to working and blogging for Aeropostale now is that I get to have fun with my wardrobe and dress cute for work, and I especially like to do so in my Aero threads! I just got this new dress from their Lorimer line, and I'm completely obsessed with all of the various colors and prints in it. I layered a light knit cardigan over it and wore my comfy cut-out oxfords, and threw on a few necklaces and bracelets, including my recently new "Carly" necklace I had made from My Name Necklace...my inspiration coming from the iconic "Carrie" necklace, of course! I've been really wanting a special necklace that I could wear everyday, so I thought ordering a name necklace would be perfect! Hope you're all having a wonderful week!

When The Wind Was Green

Wearing: eShakti dress, Michael Kors via Mara Vintage Shop bag, Thrifted heels, Vintage earrings, Target hat.

I feel like it's been forever since I've worn a lovely little vintage-inspired dress like this one from eShakti. While I enjoy trying other styles and mixing things up a bit, I do love revisiting my favorite look of wearing a vintage or vintage-inspired dress, kitten heels, and a big ol' hat. I was so excited when eShakti offered me a dress from their site, because while I had never heard of their shop before they emailed me, as soon as I started browsing around I found that I was completely in love with just about every dress on there. They have so many gorgeous vintage-inspired styles and most of them are in a variety of beautiful colors, like this dress! Oh, and the best part is that the dresses are size customize-able, so you can either select from the standard sizes XS-6X, or add in your custom measurements. After that you put in your height, and select your preferred sleeve type and dress length. For my dress, I just selected the "as shown" option for each because I loved the way it looked already, but it's so amazing that you get to have a variety and pretty much make your own dress! I am absolutely in love with this site and recommend all of you to go check it out!

Floral Kimonos + Chevron Bags

Wearing: 9th & Elm oversized kimono, East & Lo dress, Miche chevron crossbody bag, Nasty Gal sandals, Infinitine necklace.

Today was an extremely windy day, so I decided to wear my new oversized kimono from 9th & Elm, just because I knew it would be blowing everywhere, and it made for a pretty neat picture, even though none of them turned out good enough for my post. I paired it with a lovely pale pink dress from East & Lo, and what's cool about this gorgeous summer dress is that the slip underneath has built in shorts made of a thin cotton material, which makes it perfect for windy days like it was for me today, because I'm pretty sure every girl has experienced her dress being blown up by the wind which is the complete worst, but this way it wont be so bad because of the shorts! I also did a bit of pattern play and carried my chevron bag from Miche with the kimono, and it made for a very cute and colorful summer combo!

I was really wanting to go for more folk and country-vibed look with this lovely lace maxi from Others Follow. Urban Exotic

Wearing: Yesfor top, East & Lo pants, AMI Clubwear sandals, Elise M Collection bracelets (30% off entire purchase with code "carly30"), Vintage necklace, Rimmel London "Kate" Lipstick in 01.

Even though it's summer, I'm still in love with cute pants and am always on the hunt for a summer appropriate pair, which lately has been this thin and airy but also very cute pair from East & Lo! I've been wanting a jogger style pair of pants lately and this pair is so perfect, as they are extremely comfy but are super trendy as well. To balance out the pants for a more summery look, I paired them with this adorable black criss-cross crop top from Yesfor, and styled it all up with some cute colorful bracelets from Elise M Collection, which is also offering an awesome deal for my readers to get 30% off your entire purchase when you use the code "carly30". They've got so many cute accessories, so you should all go check it out!

Stylish Films: Paris When It Sizzles

Audrey Hepburn was always so stylish and beautiful, so really, every film she has ever been in would be considered a "stylish film" in my eyes, but Paris When It Sizzles it definitely one of her most stylish. Paris When It Sizzles is about a screenwriter who has a short amount of time to write his script for a new film in Paris, so he hires an assistant to live in his apartment. She helps him also by acting out a lot of the scenes he writes, and they end up falling in love. Like most of Audrey's other films, it's very fun and cute, and her outfits are just lovely!
The beautiful 60's style is amazing, and I'm loving the detail in each of her outfits. Even that blue nightgown is perfection! But, of course, that was all thanks to Audrey's close friend who designed most of her costumes, the oh-so-great Hubert de Givenchy. My personal favorite is the orange dress, because I am so in love with the collar, and the styling of it with the hat is so summery and so perfect. Watch this film if you haven't, it's a lovely story and the sights throughout it are too!

Quirky Summer Layers

Wearing: Papaya Clothing dress, Thrifted denim shirt, Aeropostale "Tokyo Darling" NY graphic tee, Thrifted heels + headscarf, Vintage necklace, Vintage Louis Vuitton via Mara Vintage Shop, Target watch.

The other day I wore this outfit to go in for my orientation for the job I just got at Aeropostale, and since it was a cloudy windy day, it wasn't too hot to wear layers, so I took advantage of that opportunity! I originally was just wearing the dress, but then I thought it would be cute (and totally appropriate for the occasion) to wear my current favorite graphic tee from Aeropostale's new Tokyo Darling line over the dress, but then I had the idea to put on a denim shirt underneath the tee, and I thought it worked so well in a quirky, young, and cute kind of way. I added in some color with the heels and headscarf, and of course I had to wear a chunky necklace, and then my outfit was complete! Not exactly my everyday style, but I always like trying new things, and I got quite a few compliments as well, so that's always a nice confidence booster when stepping out of your style comfort zone!

July Wishlist!

july

This month I've got a pretty laid back and casual outfit on my wishlist. I am so in love with cute tropical prints like the one on this adorable Sheinside skirt, bucket bags, and of course those Chanel espadrilles, but I know I'll never get to own a pair. The lime green and yellow color scheme is so perfect for July, and really allows you to wear blacks and browns together easily. While my wallet wont allow me to buy all of these specific items, I'm going to try to recreate this look this month so I can look cute but still be comfy and cool on these hot summer days.

Happy 4th!

Wearing: Thrifted shirt + cardigan, Others Follow shorts, Zero UV sunglasses, Forever 21 hat, Keds sneakers.

I've always wanted a pair of American flag shorts to wear on the 4th, but never got around to getting a pair. I'm super in love with this pair from Other Follow, because they are so soft and they have such a cute button up detailing and cut-off look, which makes them look a little rugged and very casual, perfect for this holiday! They're also so easy to style, which may seem hard to believe because of the print, but I've already got so many ideas floating around in my head for how I'm gonna wear them next! Anyways, hope all of my fellow American readers are enjoying their 4th as much as I am. The yummy food part of my day is over, now I'm looking forward to seeing some amazing fireworks tonight!

Shades of Cool

Wearing: Little Mistress dress, Target hat, Boohoo heels, Nina bracelet.

Little Mistress always seems to have some of the most beautiful dresses, and I just knew this one would be a perfect fit for summer, and especially even 4th of July festivities! It's so light and cool with the shades of blue in the floral print, and really, nothing beats a feminine and flowy dress during these hot summer months! It even comes with this adorable gold leaf belt which works so well with the dress and really adds a nice extra bit of detail to it! Anyways, I've got so many different looks in mind for tomorrow, but not sure which do go with yet... this dress is definitely an option!

July Inspiration! ♥

This month, summer is full force and I'm dreaming of a trip to go somewhere tropical. Unfortunately, that won't be happening, but it's definitely got me obsessed with with all sorts of cute tropical prints! I am really on the look out for the perfect palm printed co-ord set, and maybe some cute pants like the ones above! I better find them quick before fall gets here and I have to wait another year to wear them, but I'm just so picky, so I have a feeling it's going to be a long search! Hopefully you are all having a lovely summer so far with lots of exciting adventures and fun tropical prints!
