Dimensions

Wearing: Banggood blouse, (gifted) skirt, Zara boots.

Since I'm usually feeling inspired by a different style everyday, sometimes I really enjoy taking a break from my normally very girly style and go for a darker, more urban vibe. Maybe it's from the heavy amounts of rap music I've been listening to lately, or maybe it's just because urban is in right now, but I've been more loving this style a lot more than usual these past few weeks. I think it's good for like a day, but I definitely could not fully switch my wardrobe over to straight leather pieces and all black with bold patterns...it just doesn't look good enough on me, but once every once in a while it's always fun to try other styles!

Adore You

Wearing: Forever 21 blouse (similar), Thrifted skirt (similar), Steve Madden booties (similar), Forever 21 hat (similar).

The other day while thrifting, I found this gorgeous vintage leather skirt, and I automatically fell in love! Although a little tight, the color and the texture of it was just so perfect that I couldn't pass it up! I came up with so many outfits in my mind for this skirt, but the one I decided to wear today was actually completely random, and is one of my recent favorites!

Nowadays

Wearing: Urban Outfitters dress, Thrifted vintage swing coat, 70s Vintage Louis Vuitton bag, Zara boots.

The other day I scored this awesome vintage leopard faux fur swing coat, and it is absolutely perfect! It pretty much swallows me since its so huge (it's still a size small though!) and I'm so short, but I sort of love that about it. I was a little hesitant about wearing it to school, because even though I'm really not one to care about what people think of how I dress (I'm always strutting down my school's hallways in dresses and heels everyday...I just feel better about my day when I'm dressed cute!) but since this coat is so huge, I was expecting some sort of disapproving comments. But, I wore it, and man was it cozy on these freezing cold days this week, and I got so many compliments which made me feel so much better about it! I don't know....just some things can really make you feel fabulous, and this coat really does that for me!

Sounds of Silence

Wearing: Thrifted blazer (similar), Forever 21 dress (similar), Thrifted heels (similar).

Today I felt like a stylish taxi cab in all black, white and yellow! I've found myself pairing these bright yellow tights with everything lately and I'm not really sure why, but they look good with so many things! A colorful pair of tights can easily bring life and color to any outfit, and I think that's why I'm constantly wearing some pair of colored tights. Such an easy go-to, and my favorite time to wear a pair is on rainy, dreary days! Anyways, I hope you all have a lovely week! xx

Stylish Films: The Graduate

I've found that I'm just so inspired by style in films, and I've also noticed that I always find a film so much better when the style is good in it, so I thought what better way to talk about these stylish films than to spotlight them on my blog! I'm always looking for something new and inspiring to share my thoughts on with my readers, and right now this is a big one for me. Maybe it's just a sign I'm overly addicted to watching movies (Netflix will be the death of me!), but I really can enjoy a nice stylish film, and I'm just excited to talk about my favorites with you all!

My first film I'm featuring in my series of "Stylish Films" here on A Walk in the Park is The Graduate. My first time watching it was only the other day, but I'm in love with everything about this film. But having been filmed in 1967, the style is perfection, and I'm most specifically talking about Mrs. Robinson's style. Being the wealthier and older lady that she is, she has a very classy and very sexy wardrobe consisting of many leopard, lace and sheer pieces that you see throughout the film. As a whole though, the color palettes and 60s feel of this whole film just makes everything better, and definitely makes it a must watch for everyone! Also, one of my favorite groups Simon and Garfunkel composed the soundtrack, so you're definitely in for some good tunes while you're watching! This film just really is the whole package!

Love Her Madly

Wearing: Vintage Guess jacket, Vintage 70s top, Thrifted pants, Steve Madden booties, Vintage 70s Louis Vuitton bag, F21 hat.

I've really been loving this change of scenery thing I've been doing lately with my photos, I just feel that is been so refreshing to see something different on my blog for a change! Today was super cold, so I went out in my very 70s inspired get-up and color scheme, and I felt like I belonged in Anchorman or something...lol. Rusts and mustards and flared pants and vintage designer bags are just my favorites though, so of course I was in love with my outfit today! :)

Sparkle and Shine

Wearing: Thrifted top, Modcloth dress, Rue 21 necklace, Thrifted heels.

The other day I had a little experimental photo shoot with myself in my house, and I rigged up my own little white background out of a giant sheet of white paper and a curtain rod! I had to brighten the white in Photoshop, but I think it all worked great, and I really like the photos! I took them specifically for my 'about me' page, and I threw in the little photo of my awesome new phone case gifted to me from the lovely folks at Touch Zero Gravity because it just looked so great with my outfit! I also have to mention how cool this phone case is, because not only is it black and sparkly which is already perfect, but the case is so well made and it looks and feels like stone, which is so awesome. I definitely recommend checking out their cases, there are so many and they're all so cute!

5 Ways To Wear: Florals For Fall + Winter

Floral prints are pretty much a "staple print" in the fashion world, because it has so many variations, colors, styles, and it's a print that's loved by all. Everyone has some type of floral print in their closet, whether it be clothes, shoes, bags or anything else! But since florals are mostly worn in spring and summer outfits, it may come as a challenge to pair them into fall and winter outfits, so I've thought up 5 tips that surely help you with keeping your floral prints looking stylish for the fall and winter months!

1. Pair florals with a lot of darker (or fall + winter) colors + tones.

To keep your florals looking fitting in the cooler months, pair them with darker (or fall and winter appropriate) colors and tones. Try focusing on colors like mustard, burgundy, forest green, etc. If you really want to pair them with a brighter, more summery color like orange or blue, it's best to wear them in a darker tone, like rust and navy. Also, if you don't want to wear much color with your florals, you can always go for a nice brown or black! You can never fail with those two colors!

2. Layer your florals!

Another way to make your floral prints fit in well with your fall wardrobe is to layer around them! If you're wearing a floral dress, pair it with some cute opaque tights and a pullover sweater for a cozy look! Wearing a lot of plain knits around your floral print will help make it stand out, but in a more laid-back way which is great for achieving that perfect fall/winter look!

3. Pair with fall + winter staples, like cardigans + boots!

Wearing traditional fall and winter pieces around your floral print is key in making it appropriate for the season. It's as easy as just throwing on a cute knit cardigan, or pairing your florals with your favorite boots! Not much layering has to be involved, just those few key pieces and accessories that show you're styling your florals in a cute and warm way!

4. Try to wear smaller floral prints, rather than bigger, brighter prints.

While spring and summer are more bright and cheery seasons, fall and winter are more laid back and relaxing, which is why it is important to stick with the smaller floral prints, rather than the bigger, brighter prints. Wearing bigger and brighter florals will more than likely stand out a lot more than the rest of your outfit, and it will most likely look completely out of place.

5. Wear them in your shoes and accessories!

There are many more small ways you can incorporate florals into your fall and winter outfits, like through your shoes and accessories. Maybe you have a floral bag, or even floral printed loafers or oxfords. Smaller pieces like these can really add a nice pop and bit of detail to your outfit for a very stylish touch!

---
There are so many different floral pieces out there, so there is surely many ways to tie them into your fall and winter wardrobe! While I've only listed five different tips, I know there are so many other ways that you can creatively pair your florals with your fall and winter outfits! If you all can think of any others, leave me a comment and let me know! I'm so curious to hear what you all come up with! Thanks for reading!

Between Two Dreams

Wearing: Forever 21 shirt, Thrifted romper, Steve Madden booties.

Today I paired one of my favorite rompers to wear during summer with my army green button up and my favorite Steve Madden booties to make the romper look more appropriate for the season. I've been doing just what I said this weekend so far, drinking coffee and working on some new posts that will be up soon! I'm also working on my about me page that I've left abandoned for a while now, and I'm also trying to get my own domain, even though "awalkinthepark.com" and ".net" is taken...still trying to figure out what I'm going to do about that problem. Anyways, hope you all are having a great weekend!

Summer in January!

Wearing: Thrifted denim shirt, Thrifted skirt, Thrifted heels.

I wore my completely thrifted outfit this evening to go to my favorite park thats on the river and just sit and listen to Mac DeMarco. Then I cruised around a little while with the windows down because it was truly a beautiful day, and it felt like what Florida should feel like during the summer, a solid 76 degrees instead of around 100. Now I'm ready for the weekend, which will probably be spent indoors drinking coffee and sleeping, since I barely got any sleep at all this week. I hope you all had a fantastic week, and have an even better weekend! xx
