Pretty in Pink

Wearing: J.Crew blouse (old), Aeropostale (c/o) skirt (buy here!), Deux Lux (c/o) bag (buy here!), thrifted heels.

With only 4 weeks of high school left the go and the struggles of figuring out my college situation, I've been unable to post this week, and barely this month. I try to post everyday anymore, but thats just been a bit hard this month. But, summer is coming up, so expect lots of posts from me all summer long! And hopefully if I move to NY this fall, you'll get to see even better outfit posts as I explore the city of my dreams! But besides that, I received lots of colorful things in the mail the other day, like this lovely floral skirt from Aeropostale, and this super adorable coral bag from Deux Lux. I really loved the modern floral print going on in the skirt...it's definitely giving off a "futuristic floral" vibe to me rather than just a classic floral print. I also thought it made for a good pair to mix the floral skirt with this ruffled blouse from J.Crew and my Deux Lux woven textured bag because they definitely make for an interesting combination. Many different shades of pink were showing up all over my outfit and I was loving every bit of it! Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

(PS - If you haven't noticed, I've changed up my blogs design once again. I've enlarged my whole layout here, so I'm going to begin uploading larger photos. This is going to make me extremely picky about every little thing now in my pictures, but I'll get used to it. The bigger the better, right? Lemme know what you think!)

Stylish Films: Her

Spike Jonze's "Her" is definitely one of the best films I've seen in quite a while. I left the theater with so many thoughts and questions, and I still can't even begin to explain why it was such a fantastic film. I am still so speechless. Taking place in the near future, the settings seen in this film does portray the future well, but I was a little intrigued by the main character Theodore's style and how that can be a correct representation of the future of fashion. While yes, a fictional film, it still interests me as to why futuristic fashion in Spike Jonze's eyes consists of simplistic oxford shirts and extremely high-waisted trousers.
While confused on the idea of this futuristic fashion, I still completely loved it. Maybe the high-waisted pants are a little strange, but for some reason they really worked for Joaquin Phoenix's character Theodore. Not really sure why. But besides the awesome awkward trousers, his choice of vibrant coral colored oxfords shirts throughout the film really stood out and caught my eye in a good way. The overall simplistic styles of the film was a good addition to the organized and clean lifestyle that it seems like took place in Theodore's life.
Everything about this film was so creative and unique, and the story and message is breathtaking. It may seem a little strange to some, but it is a film to really keep an open mind about when seeing, because the message is just amazing. If you haven't seen it already, please do!

Route 66

Wearing: Forever 21 tank (old), Thrifted kimono, shorts, + belt, Zara boots, Target scarf, Elise M Collection bracelet (buy here!)

The warmer the weather gets, the more I want to dress in my best boho attire. And it doesn't help at all that festival season is here, and all of my favorite bloggers are transforming into bohemian goddesses! I've been listening to my favorite summer tunes which consist of tons of classic rock, like the Rolling Stones! Two years ago all I really wore outside of this blog were jeans and old band tees, but man has my style really changed. Anymore, I can't leave the house without dressing up and wearing my favorite heels, even if it is to go to a grocery store. I dressed so lazily at school that I made the decision that I'd really make an effort to dress how I really want to dress for my senior year, and I am proud that it has stuck all year, and grown on me to look presentable everywhere I go. Not only did I decide to do this because I looked better, but because dressing up honestly makes me feel good about myself, and when I feel confident my days are so much better. Now my poor little band shirts barely see the light outside of the drawer they're shoved into, but I still love them so much....especially all 11 of my Aerosmith shirts. Lol. But anyways, I finally decided to incorporate one into my outfit today, and I felt cute and not lazy in it! This summer I will without a doubt be reppin' my favorite bands on my shirts again with cute kimonos and high-waisted shorts for those hot summer days!

April Wishlist!

april

River Island top, $20 / White skirt, $30 / Topshop black sandals / Topshop strappy sandals / Valentino leather bag / Nixon Watches watch / Chanel belt / Rag Bone fedora hat / Moschino tech accessory, $70 / Miu Miu sunglasses

This month, I'm giving in to the trends of this season, like more modern-styled clothing and those lovely palm tree printed clothes! I'm really feeling the tan-skin and tropical vibes for this summer, which is unusual for me. But considering this will probably be my last summer in Florida for a while, I really want to be a true Florida blogger and give into the tropical fashions that follow the sunshine state lifestyle. Besides this, I also really, really, really want one of those Moschino french fry phone cases so badly. I didn't really like the collection, well, I did, but not in a serious way....more like a "lol thats pretty funny and ironic" kind of way. But seriously, I think the phone case is cute and trendy (trendy?) for right now and I am trying to get my hands on one.  To top it all of I'm dying over black leather studded accessories, and cute sandals.

Puttin' On The Ritz

Wearing: Forever 21 dress (buy here!), Thrifted heels, Nina Earrings + Bracelet (buy here!), Louis Vuitton bag via Mara Vintage Shop, ZeroUV sunglasses (buy here!)

When I was putting my outfit together for the day, I did not know I was going to end up looking and feeling this glam. I had straightened my hair (which is a very boring, lazy look for me), and I initially threw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, but for some reason I was really feeling ugly and did not wanna settle for just that, so I threw on this Forever 21 shift dress and my favorite little oxford heels here. That then felt too cute for my drab straightened hair, so I played around with some hairspray and bobby pins and came out with this cute hairstyle, and, of course, then had to accessorize! I threw on my layered pearls and sparkliest jewels from Nina and grabbed my vintage Louis Vuitton and I was out the door...probably a little overdressed for the day, yes, but I don't care, I love feeling glam and looking fabulous no matter where I go! Kinda funny how on our laziest days we can end up looking so fab...do any of you all ever have these moments?

12 Outfit Ideas + Tips For Your Favorite Festival Styles!

Festival season is here, and while I live far away from any of the good festivals that are going on, I still like to sit and admire the beautiful outfits that are being worn! When I think of festivals and fashion, so many things come to mind, the main thing being that festival season and the main festivals like Coachella are the modern re-visited woodstocks, which means it is the perfect time to let out your inner boho princess, which is one of my favorite styles! Festivals are also so hyped up because they are in a sense they're own fashion week...the groups playing the different "designers" shows, and the with the many attendees, there's always great "street style", and people dying to be photographed in their booties and kimonos. But bohemian isn't the only style present at festivals, there are of course other appropriate styles for the occasion like girly, rocker, and rustic. So if you're planning to attend some festivals this season, here's some good outfit ideas and tips that will surely make your style stand out!

Bohemian style is the biggest when it comes to festivals, and that makes it first on the list here! If you're trying to go for a boho look, make sure you layer, layer, layer! Don't layer clothes though, but rather accessories, because these are what will stand out the most at a festival, because clothes are kept at a minimal due to the heat! Put on lots of necklaces, scarves in your hair, bold tribal-inspired cuffs, and a floppy hat, and you're good to go! Oh, and don't forget a cute light cardigan or kimono. As for shoes, for festivals its good to keep your options limited to ankle booties, sandals, and maybe a cute pair of sneakers like Keds or Converses. Don't try to wear anything you love too much, because I can imagine they'll get super dirty and possibly very muddy. And don't wear heels either. Because you'll end up barefoot and carrying them around....and that's no fun!

Another popular style at festivals is the pretty, free-spirited, girly look. Lots of pretty prints like florals and polka dots are popular if you're trying to achieve this style, and bold, feminine accessories are key. Crop tops and maxi dresses are the perfect pieces for this look, and look super cute when paired with oversized hats and flower crowns. (Create your own DIY flower crown!) Make sure you keep your outfit colorful too when going for a girly festival style to show off your bright, bubbly look!

For a rocker style, if you're wanting to go for a simpler outfit that's still super cute, just wear a band tee, cut-offs, and ankle booties... you honestly can't go wrong with that look! But some main pieces you're gonna want to have going on in your wardrobe are denim and leather, but not leather jackets, because that would be way too hot to wear to a festival! Try leather skirts and shorts and even cute leather fringed vests to get your rocker look perfected when heading out to your fave festival. If you're wanting to go with a cute printed top or dress, the best prints to go for would be stripes or even a cute american flag print! Accessorize this style with your favorite oversized fedora and bold belt, and some cute detailed booties for an awesome rocker look that people will be dying to photograph!

Rustic styles are another one of my favorites when it comes to festivals. I love them so much because not only are they natural and simplistic, but still very pretty and feminine as well. If you're trying to go for this look, a good go-to would be to wear airy, loose smock dresses and pair them with your favorite light knit cardigan for a stylish and comfy festival look. When wearing rustic looks, its good to keep it very natural and stick to neutral colors, and simplistic prints like stripes and simple florals. Denim is always a good choice for this look, because it is very casual and can be paired with so many different things. When accessorizing this style, keep it simple with delicate rings and necklaces to add a cute bit of detail to your outfit without overpowering the whole look!

When you're trying to get your outfits ready to go for whichever festival your attending, make sure you also get on Pinterest for some good outfit inspiration from frequently-photographed attendees of these festivals that fit the style you're going for. For example if you're trying to go for the perfect boho look, I would definitely recommend looking at Vanessa Hudgen's Coachella looks, because they are perfection! Along with that, as long as you follow these tips, you're sure to be not only festival ready, but you'll definitely be standing out amongst the crowd in what ever you decide to wear, and you'll also be having more fun in your adorable outfit!

Modern Day Bohemian

Wearing: H&M shirt, Boohoo jacket, Banggood skort + clutch, Forever 21 hat, AMI Clubwear sandals (buy here!), Target watch, Vintage necklace, Elise M Collections bracelet (buy here!).

I've been so obsessed with everything white and monochrome outfits in general lately, which is strange for me, since I'm not usually a big fan of white. I think it's mostly because I'm trying to get a bit of a tan going for this summer, and with my usual pale skin, white is never a good option. I got these super cute and modern styled sandals from AMI Clubwear, and I'm I've been wearing them with just about everything! They're super cute, comfy, and they're on sale now, too, so if you like them you should hurry up and snag you a pair before they sale out! With these modern sandals I wore my asymmetric skirt since it's modern styled too, but I decided it would be interesting to mix styles, so I added a bit of bohemian flair with the fringe jacket, oversized fedora, and this super cute bracelet from Elise M Collections. I'm not gonna lie, I felt pretty trendy in this outfit, but unfortunately had to cut short the photo sesh I was having because my favorite little photo spot here happens to also be the homeless hangout....but oh well! Anyways, hope you're all having a great weekend so far!

Blouse in Bloom

Wearing: Aeropostale (c/o) blouse, Target shorts, AMI Clubwear sandals (buy here!), Thrifted hat, Elise M Collection necklace + bracelet (buy here!)

On most days you'll catch me wearing a dress, but today I thought I'd make an exception, and wear some shorts to go along with this beautiful floral blouse from Aeropostale. I was thinking denim shorts, but then I remembered I have this violet pair which matches oh so perfectly! Along with it I just wore these brown + black color block sandals from AMI Clubwear, and my favorite springtime hat. And, I decided to take some photos with a very spring feel to them to match! Overall I feel like it's a simple outfit, but I love it so much.

Romantic Ruffles

Wearing: Thrifted Ralph Lauren shirt, Marshall's dress, Thrifted hat, Urban Outfitters sandals.

With spring's arrival, I'm in love with everything light and airy. Most specifically, this pale pink sheer dress. The ruffle details are so pretty to me, and it's definitely my favorite maxi dress that I have in my closet. Again, I layered a denim button-up over this dress as well, because the dress doesn't have sleeves and it was windy outside, and unlike a cardigan, I felt this gave it a rustic look which I love!
