Comfy, Easy, + Cute: Dresses With Tall Boots

Like you all probably know, I've had quite a big obsession lately with pairing dresses and tall boots together for an easy and cute boho-inspired look! While this look is seen often, I don't feel like it's been touched on much in the blogger world, and I just feel the need to share, because it's such an easy  cute, and cheap look, which is perfect for stylish college girls who are trying to achieve a well put-together outfit on a low budget, like me! Here's a few tips on styling this pairing, along with a few reasons why I think it's so amazing:

Firstly, a dress and boots creates an effortless boho look. Boho style has been in style for quite a while now, and I've been a lover of all things boho for years now, so if there's an easy way to put together a quick look around one of my favorite styles, I'm on it. For my dress + boots outfits like the ones in this post, I start with my trusty ol' brown boots that I once thrifted and I now wear ALL the time, find a dress that looks cute with my boots (usually a skater dress), pick out some socks that will look best with said dress, and then I find some kind of sweater/poncho to throw over my dress! I add on scarves, hats, necklaces, as many accessories as I can to create that cozy layered look that I'm aiming to achieve with these outfits.

The process of putting together an outfit like this takes all of 5 minutes, and when I'm wearing an outfit like this, I'm usually leaving the house with very minimal makeup on, and my natural wavy/straight hair. It fits the look of the outfit to keep your hair and makeup as natural as possible, and I always end up leaving the house feeling a bit Misty Day from AHS Coven inspired, which is a great feeling, because I always thought her character had such great style!

Another thing that's so great about wearing dresses with tall boots is how easily this pairing can be transitioned between seasons. Fall, Winter, Spring, even Summer - you can switch up color schemes, and instead of wearing sweaters over dresses, you can pair a lightweight summer dress with a thin kimono for a breezy outfit. I've never been to any festivals, but if I ever go to one, I'll probably end up wearing a variation of this pairing, walking through mud and dirt on a hot summer day just screams for the pairing of boots and a light dress!

I could go on and on about why I love this pairing so much, but I'll just stop here for now! For all of you gals looking to rock this look ASAP whether it be on campus or on your next coffee date, I've got some cute (+ cheap!) dresses and accessories that I'll link here. Nothing is over $50, so I promise a little browsing will be worth your time, even if you don't have much to spend!

Vintage Flashbacks

Wearing: Aeropostale shirt, Forever 21 skirt (only $9!), Vintage Guess jacket, Vintage Louis Vuitton bag, Vintage Stuart Weitzman heels, belt c/o Elise M Collection, Forever 21 hat.

I love 70s style along with the amazing color schemes of browns and warm tones, so that's of course how I decided to dress on this cooler day. I wore all of my favorite vintage pieces, along with this light chambray skirt from Forever 21, this cute turtleneck I once got on sale at Aeropostale a few months back, and my favorite belt from Elise M Collection! Maybe I've never talked about my true love for this belt, but I'm completely obsessed with it. I wear it with everything, and the color, thickness, and slight hidden stretch of it is perfect! It's also genuine leather, which means it'll last me such a long time, rather than all of those cheap little faux leather belts that continuously break on me. I'd just like to say I highly recommend this belt  to everyone! It always compliments my outfits so well, like my outfit here, and that makes a happier me! I was just so happy with my outfit today as well as my makeup thanks to the lovely Essence cosmetics, so I'm thinking I need to get into my 70s zone more often!

Day + Night Valentine's Day Outfit Ideas

Valentine's Day is finally here, and there are so many ways to celebrate this wonderful day of love! You don't have to be in a relationship to have a great time celebrating this holiday, you can also do anything from having your own Galentine's Day with some gal pals or even just celebrate alone on the couch with your cat. I'll personally be doing the latter, but I always love getting dressed up in my cutest reds and pinks on this colorful day. Below I've shared a fun little daytime and nighttime look for Valentine's, and they're both perfect outfits for whatever events the day brings you. Even if you're spending your V-day running errands, this year you can have fun doing so in a holiday-appropriate way!

DAYTIME:

Wearing: Bethany Mota dress c/o Aeropostale, Walmart hat (less than $5!), H&M bracelet, Rue 21 necklace, Thrifted vintage black t-strap heels.

NIGHTTIME:

Also -- I wanted to use this post as an excuse to make a new video for my YouTube channel! Check out another look at these outfits with a bit more commentary and even a listing of what makeup I'm using below! Tell me what you think, and if you'd like to see more videos from me, let me know what I should do! Any suggestions are much appreciated! Hope you all have a lovely Valentine's!

ThirdLove

Wearing: ThirdLove lace bra + panties, Target floral robe.

Get 10% off your entire purchase with code "AWALKIN10"

I'm so in love with feminine, lace lingerie pieces, it's really all I buy anymore. They're sophisticated, beautiful, and also sexy. If you like to match your lingerie, I find that it's so much easier to do when buying lace lingerie, because all you need to do is match up colors, instead of prints and styles. Lately, I've really been on the hunt for quality made bralettes at affordable prices, because they're so much comfier, and not only are they adorable, but they're also perfect for layering under sheer dresses and blouses, or even underneath a low-cut tank.

ThirdLove is a lingerie site that I've recently discovered, and I'm so thankful I did. There are so many beautiful pieces of lingerie to choose from, all quality at affordable prices. They make the perfect V-day self splurge gift if you're wanting to treat yo self like I did for myself this year! Even better, for being such lovely readers, you get 10% off your purchase when you use code "AWALKIN10," so make sure you take advantage of that great deal!

Bundled Up in Chunky Knits

Wearing: H&M chunky sweater (on sale for only $10!) and lace skirt, knit infinity scarf c/o Scarves Dot Net, thigh high hosiery c/o Vienne Milano, bag c/o T Shirt + Jeans, leopard Seychelles booties c/o PB&J Boutique

I've been shopping so many winter sales lately and buying up all of the chunky knits, like this sweater I got from H&M for only $10! I got one in the orange color too which is now sold out, but they are both the coziest sweaters you'll ever put on! Yes, it makes me look like a short little out-of-shape blob, but it's so comfy that I just do not care. I paired it with a burgundy lace skirt I got from H&M which was on sale also, my favorite pair of tights from Vienne Milano, and my lovely, warm booties from PB&J Boutique. I've been in love with simpler outfits for colder days, but with this outfit I thought the skirt and booties would add a nice little touch of color, print, and texture!

Southwestern Vibes

Wearing: Aztec poncho c/o Yoins, Forever 21 dress (old), Forever 21 hat, slouchy bag c/o T-shirt and Jeans, Target socks, Thrifted boots, necklace c/o Elise M Collection.

I'm still so into the dress + boots look, it's always my go-to pairing on these cooler days when I'm running errands and just don't put too much effort into my outfit. Today I wore a brown Forever 21 with this super cute aztec print knit poncho and a big brown hat to give off some southwestern vibes. I love the layered look of this outfit and I'm going to keep thinking of new ways to wear my dresses with my favorite tall boots here for other days like today!
