Wearing Deep Colors During Summer

Today's outfit is filled with deeper colors, which seem much more suitable for fall. Truth is, I love deeper color-schemes much more than lighter colors, but since they're more acceptable during the fall and winter months, I don't even think to wear them during the spring and summer.

This green and blue t-shirt dress from Natural Life is just perfect to me in every way. The colors, print, and structure of the dress makes for the ideal comfy go-to dress and it can be dressed either up or down. Today I kept my look casual but well-accessorized with layered jewelry from Elise M Collection and a big hat from Forever 21, but this dress would look so adorable dressed up with wedges and a clutch!

The Bigger The Better!

When it comes to dresses, heels, and hats, the saying is true: the bigger the better! Well structured dresses and hats such as the two I'm wearing here make fashion so much more artful and exciting. I feel so chic every time I wear a big dress such as this one from Chicwish, it just refreshes a vintage-inspired style and really stands out with it's print, structure, and especially it's colors!

With this outfit, I kept the jewelry simple yet still glam since the rest of my look was bold. My earrings from Rachel Marie Designs were oh so sparkly and paired wonderfully with my gold cuff from Fornash

2. Look pretty in peach while wearing this romantic floral frock.

Everyday Vacay Style

When you live in Florida, summertime calls for an everyday vacay style. No, I don't mean cargo shorts and flip flops, even though that's unfortunately the style that a lot of Floridians go for. I actually don't even own the first pair of flip flops. I used to, but in my mind I decided that they are repulsive and I realized that there are so many stylish alternatives to wearing them, such as flashy metallic slide ons that are more recently becoming a wardrobe necessity.

I also usually think straw fedora-style hats are too touristy for me, but this summer they're a trend that's growing on me more and more. In my mind I'm planning to leave this state within the next few years, so I think I'm just embracing the Florida lifestyle until then. I've been going to the beach more than ever, and wearing outfits (such as this one) that typically aren't my style.

For this easy look I'm wearing a light and fun pullover top from Natural Life along with a pair of white woven shorts I recently bought on sale from Forever 21. I wore some heeled sandals with this outfit, but it would also look good worn with white sneakers or those metallic slide ons I was talking about as well!

Looking for a pair of summer friendly sandals that are as comfy as they are chic? Here are some of my favorite picks for this season:

1. Lace-up sandals are perfect for achieving a comfy boho style!
2. These brown sandals add color and detail to your everyday flat sandal.
3. Ditch the flip flops and go for a simple metallic toe sandal.
4. Style these versatile black sandals any way for any time of the day.
5. A jeweled pair of sandals can add a glam touch to any summer look!

Looking Trendy and Feeling Comfy

Walking around town and hitting up your favorite local hangouts with friends is always a good excuse to dress up in a cute outfit. That's how I feel, at least. Palazzo pants and a light tank are a great combo for going out with friends, but my little secret is that it's the most comfortable outfit, also.

These vibrant yet versatile fold-over palazzo pants from Natural Life are free-spirited and oh-so-easy to style for any daytime occasion, whether I'm wearing them to class, to the beach, or even to go out shopping with friends. Natural Life is a Jacksonville brand that I've loved for a long time because it perfectly fits my style in every way. They not only have comfy casual boho-inspired clothing, but also little trinkets and accessories that suit the free-spirited gal as well.

Lace detailed styles and off-the-shoulder silhouettes would also look stylish with these lightweight palazzo pants, but today's heat just called for my simple crochet-detailed tank from Others Follow. I wore a lace bralette underneath and accessorized with some natural and boho-inspired pieces to make the outfit stand out even more.

Stylish Casual Look for a Summer Getaway

Small getaways are what I love most about the summer. Whether it be for day out to the beach or going on a road trip, any sort of escape from the weekly norm is mind-freeing. I always make well though-out efforts to look casually cute while still feeling comfortable, paying special attention to the detail in the accessories I wear and bring along.

For this getaway look I am carrying a getaway bag from Lulu Dharma, which is both equally as beautiful as it is functional. This bag features a beautiful blue print that I simply cannot take my eyes off of, so naturally my outfit was being built around this eye-catching beauty! With my bag I tried to keep up a scheme of various blues, going from my contrasting stripe woven top from Forever 21, to my dark wash denim from East & Lo and blue faced wooden watch from JORD

Wearing: Lulu Dharma bag, Flying Monkey x East & Lo denim, Forever 21 top, AMI Clubwear sandals, JORD wooden watch, Elise M Collection bracelet + ring, ZeroUV sunglasses.

A quality-made getaway bag is a main essential for all of summers adventures. If you want a wonderfully functional and stylish getaway bag, I picked out a few affordably chic suggestions for you!

1. This classic getaway bag will make carrying all of life's essentials look chic!
2. A boldly floral weekend bag is enough to make you never want to put it down!
3. If you'd rather go for a tote bag style, this versatile tote is perfect for you.
4. No matter where you're going, a striped weekend bag will be a great addition to your look.
5. Feel like you're going straight to the Hamptons with this preppy neutral getaway bag!

Modern-Day Gypsy Summer Wardrobe Essentials

An easily achieved bohemian look is what every girl is looking to achieve this summer. Getting the ultimate authentic boho style can seem difficult since the style looks as if its all about the details and layers. However, with the proper mixing of colors, prints, and textures, the modern-day gypsy look can become a quite effortless and comfortable option for your summer style.

I have already remixed this Target off-the-shoulder top and Forever 21 sandals here on my blog in numerous ways now, but I am at it once again. This time, my rust colored culottes from Forever 21 perfectly complimented the silhouette of this white top and the details in the sandals. I also tied this darling scarf from Lulu Dharma in my hair, but it can also be worn as a shawl for a Stevie Nicks-inspired style or tied around the waist/hips as a belted detail.

Wearing: Target off-the-shoulder top, Forever 21 culottes and sandals (sold out, but I love this pair!) T-Shirt & Jeans crossbody bag, Lulu Dharma scarf, Elise M Collection arm cuff + ring.

Culottes are easily becoming a summer favorite of mine. I'm trading in the uncomfortable high-waisted denim shorts for these airy and fun pants, and you should, too! Here's some more of my faves:

1. Black culottes are perfect for transitioning your work outfit into a night out look!
2. Show off your bright summer style in these colorful tulip print culottes!
3. Replace your summer denim with these light wash chambray culottes.
4. Playful polka dot prints look perfect on these black and white culottes!
5. These chiffon culottes are great for achieving a romantic minimal look!

Sophisticated Bohème

Sometimes even a bohemian gal has to dress up... and that's when you just have to take your favorite bohemian styles and find their more sophisticated counterpart! I'm mixing this new side of me which wants to wear more sophisticated styles, with the inner me who just wants to be boho. My navy pants from Forever 21 have a palazzo style but with a more sophisticated structure, and my floral off-the-shoulder top from Savoir-Faire just all-around feminine and free-spirited! I kept the jewelry on the more classic side with my pearl necklace and earrings from Coco & Marie and my new Alex & Ani bracelets. All of the jewelry I'm wearing here are permanent additions to my look at the moment, I seriously just cannot take these pieces off!

This outfit reminds me of something I've been wanting to talk about lately. Honestly, the past few months I've been going through a bit of a weird phase where I'm feeling discouraged, and I've been feeling that it is time to make myself change. Change my style, how I present myself, my blog and who I'm trying to reach through it, and so on. I think it's because I'm almost 20 now so I'm stuck in this phase of becoming more womanly, which is a time I've waited for now for so long. I always feel like a 30 year old in my mind and I have to remind myself I'm only 19, but I just have such a hard time relating to most others my age but can relate to and talk with older people so well. I act young in my ways and look it too, but my interests are way beyond my age.

The blogs I read and the inspiration I gather from them are not anything like my style, but I suppose they are as well. Maybe it's all a part of being a style chameleon like I feel I am... I like a little bit of everything and all at the same time I feel it's wrong and confusing to my readers and viewers to switch up my look so often. I've recently told myself that since I love the classic feminine style of French women so much that I should take it on for myself, but that just isn't me. It is part of me because I admire it so much, but what about my love for bohemian style? Or the sometimes edgier looks I like to wear? Sometimes, I love to wear quirky prints and tons of color as well. I would basically have to part with everything in my closet to take on a style that I feel I should wear, but then I wouldn't be true to myself.

All I'm trying to say is, sometimes we feel we need to make changes to ourselves when we are getting discouraged or going through a strange time in our lives, but we need to remember that changing ourselves isn't the answer, but rather embracing who we are is what will get us past the harder times.

Wearing: Savoir-Faire floral top, Forever 21 navy pants, Nina Originals sandals, Forever 21 hat (old, I love this similar hat!), T-Shirt & Jeans clutch, Coco & Marie pearl necklace + earrings, Michael Kors watch, Alex & Ani bracelets.

----------------------------------

Off-the-shoulder tops are such a great trend for this spring and summer and are lately being referred to as "bardot" tops which I love. Here's more of my favorite off-the-shoulder and bardot style tops:

1. This lace bell-sleeve top is great for a romantic gypsy style.
2. Patchwork styles on this off-the-shoulder top turn this trend into a lasting classic.
3. Opt for this snug fitted striped top for a good summer go-to.
4. Pair this tropical bardot top with your comfiest cutoffs on your next vacay!
5. Take this chic black off-the-shoulder top from day to night easily!
